Description
Eee by gum, the West Yorkshire Treacle Miners are in full swing mining their precious product. Ecky thump!!! One of their number has fallen into the treacle and got himself into a right sticky situation. Treacle mines are rare and appear in just five regions of England including Yorkshire. Treacle mining is the fictitious mining of treacle (similar to molasses) in a raw form similar to coal. The subject purports to be serious but is an attempt to test credulity. Thick black treacle makes the deception plausible. The topic has been a joke in British humour since the mid-19th century. This is another in the Little People collaboration between Steve Purnell and Sandi Cockayne.
